New: Mold Flow Analysis
July 5, 2009 by Thuy
Molds are expensive. Maximise their ROI.
The Asquance Mold Flow Analysis service targets creating an effective mold directly on the drawing board. Molds are not cheap. Use Asquance to avoid mold modification after pre-series.
Modifications will fragilise the tool and likely reduce its lifespan. Creating the tool right is a good way to maximise return on your capital expenditure.
Mold flow analysis is used to optimise drawings from your tooling house and start a dialogue on available options. Tool drawings are not necessary, analysis can be run from your product drawings to avoid confidentiality issues. We can read your files in prt, stp, step, iges, igs and stl formats.
Mold flow simulation will show for given injection points:
- fill time

- injection pressure and drop

- flow temperature

- confidence of fill, likely air traps and weld line locations

- quality prediction: weak points and likely defect areas
